The NAATI CCL exam structure
The NAATI CCL exam consists of two dialogues assessing interpreting skills in community contexts, each approximately 300 words. These dialogues encompass both English and a Language Other Than English (LOTE), covering various topics relevant to daily life in Australia. Interpreting must commence within 5 seconds of a chime, as extended pauses may lead to deductions in marks. The test duration should not exceed 20 minutes. Evaluation criteria include accuracy, completeness, language proficiency, and interpreting techniques. A passing score of 63 or above (with at least 29 marks per dialogue) will receive candidates a letter from NAATI, enabling them to claim 05 points in the GSM Visa category.
